The genesis of The Building Distribution can be traced back to circa 1990 when then 19-year-old S&M Bicycles founder, Chris Moeller, decided to handle U.S. distribution of his emerging BMX brand himself.

Much like bringing the manufacturing of S&M products in house, Moeller wanted to have a hand in picking the shops stocking his product to satisfy his D.I.Y. ethos.

“Building relationships with our dealers is a part of the business we’ve always really enjoyed,” Moeller explains. “We like to work as closely as possible with the shops that carry our products, because they become the face of our brands once a rider walks in the door.”

Over time S&M’s Santa Ana office, or ‘The Building,’ organically grew into the sole U.S.A. distributor of S&M and Fitbikeco.
